From the start of the 2014-15 session, on Tuesday 19th August, school meals are priced at £2.10 per child per day. Assistance with Free School Meals is available from Scottish Borders Council. Further details are available on Scottish Borders Council's "Free School Meals" webpage.
At Chirnside Primary School, all of our meals are prepared freshly on the premises. Pupils are given a choice of buying either a school meal OR a "Grab & Go" (a pre-prepared snack-style lunch incorporting sandwich, fruit, dessert and drink and which is picked up from the Dining Hall without queueing).
School meals (including "Grab & Go") are ordered a week in advance. Pupils receive an envelope each Monday with the following week's menu printed on it. Pupils make their choices, preferably with parental guidance, by ticking the appropriate boxes and payment is enclosed in the envelope which must be returned by the Wednesday of the same week. School lunch orders received after Wednesdays cannot be provided however, in such cases, pupils will receive a "Soup & Sandwich" lunch (with dessert and drink choice) in place of the main course choices for that day.
